All Alone

Photo by Greg Laychak poem by Gigi Ann

I set lonely and alone in my chair
No worries, no joy,
I've lost my zest.
My days are long
They're not the best.
My nights are lonely
As I try to rest
Lonely and all alone.
In my own little world.

Such appears the fate of many forgotten elderly individuals living out their days. Lonely and alone indeed.

it's so sad sometimes when they are left in a world on their own..much loneliness in your lines..

Quite the melancholy bit...I too saw a certain sadness in the prompt, the loneliness...

What an outstanding line 'no worries; no joy' This made the whole poem so real. This is where the extreme sadness just oozed out! Really good write.

Sad, but real. You hit the tone and the heart of the photo. Great work.
